Nerdology Top 5 Games of the Year
Here is my not-at-all-anticipated top 5 games of 2011. Batman: Arkham City LA Noire Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (unfinished because I’m moving, but so damn charming)   Gears of War 3 Jetpack Joyride  Two notes. I haven’t found the time to play Mario Land 3D or Mario Kart 7 but I’d bet one of them would have made this list if I did. I also didn’t play Skyrim because...

What was the best piece of technology you...
This was a fun experiment last year so I thought we’d do this again. I’m a little torn with my answer this year. It was the year of the 3DS, I bought a new TV and I decided that physical books just weren’t for me.  But despite all that I think the best piece of technology I purchased this year is my HTC Flyer. Go a head and laugh, the people at my new job certainly are. A 7...

What is SOPA and how does it work? The Stop Online... →
Nilay Patel hits it hard. SOPA and PIPA are the effective equivalent of blowing up every road, bridge, and tunnel in New York to keep people from getting to one bootleg stand in Union Square — but leaving the stand itself alone. … … at its simplest level, SOPA is a kneejerk reaction to the fundamental nature of the internet, which was explicitly designed to ignore outmoded and...

Oregon man held after Star Wars light saber attack... →
My hero: “One officer was able to hit the man with his Taser, but the suspect then broke the Taser wire with his light saber” Seriously though, LA Times, lightsaber is one word. The word is so mainstream it isn’t even underlined in red as I type this post. Also the quickest Google search of “light saber” yields the Wikipedia entry for “Lightsaber.” One...

It would be great if there was a button on Tumblr that could add the music in my dashboard to my Rdio/Spotify/iTunes library. That way I could listen to the days music together on my way home from work, or over the weekend. I’d even settle for a way to sort my dashboard by kind of update.  So I could see all the music or videos that my friends are posting.
