Amazon launches $79 Kindle, available today

Last month in a post I said:

If [Amazon is] planning to sell a full fledged Android tablet for $250 an eReader at 114 is too expensive.  I’ll bet it drops to $99 or even $75 this year and then free next year with the aforementioned promotion.

I was wrong. They’re selling their Android tablet for $199.

Today we got our sub $100 Kindle e-reader… actually, we got two of them. The classic Kindle is $79 and the Kindle Touch e-reader (exactly what it sounds like) will go on sale for $99 when it launches on November 21st.

I own a 7 inch tablet, but for $79 it’s going to be hard not to purchase an e-reader. Goodbye all of my books.
