Star Trek vs. Star Wars
Inspired by Bryan’s post I thought of this mash-up idea. Grabbed all the footage I could and cut it together in about an hour. Even though I’m usually not a fan of videos like this I’m excited with how this came out. This is easily the nerdiest thing I’ve ever worked on…
Now that JJ Abrams is officially directing Star Wars Episode VII I feel like it’s OK to reblog this.
Can we pause for a moment and just take in the “Not Penny’s Boat” moment that happens in the new Star Trek trailer. Thanks.
UPDATE: Guys, GUYS. I know what this scene is referencing. It’s supposed to evoke Spock’s death in Star Trek II. I was making a joke. I also don’t think Spock is going to die in this movie.
TC Sottec is killing it right now on twitter. Follow him.
J.J Abrams will reportedly direct the next 'Star Wars' film
This is really, really strange to me. I would think that Paramount would have locked him down for the Star Trek franchise after the success of the reboot and the anticipation of Into Darkness.
It’s also worth noting that the source of the article is ”an individual with knowledge of the production told TheWrap.” So, take that for what you will.
I also don’t think Disney would give the keys to Star Wars to someone making, what is essentially, a rival franchise. Very strange. I’ll wait until there is a press release before thinking about it for too much longer.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think JJ Abrams is a bad choice though. I mean, he did a great job of turning the last Star Trek movie into Star Wars. Right Matt?
There is something going on, on Damon Lindelof’s twitter account. Is it Star Trek related? Is it Lost related? Is it 1952 related? Is it something totally new?
This is like a drawn out version of the decoder ring scene in A Christmas Story.
There is going to be a Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who crossover comic book. Sign me up.

There is now a Star Trek version of Settlers of Catan.
According to Board Game Geek
The one new element in Star Trek Catan compared to the Settlers version is a set of character cards, each featuring one of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Scott, Uhura, Chekov, Chapel, Rand or Sarek. Each character card has two special powers that the holder can use on his turn, such as a forced trade.
Comes out in March
That means I have a month and a half to act like I didn’t pee pee my pants pants when I found out this news.
WELP. BYE BYE LATE 20’S. ITS BEEN NICE KNOWIN YA. SEE YOU GUYS NEVER. Unless you want to come over and play that is.
